Sea Breezes, Portree

When we spent the weekend in Skye recently top of our list was checking out some first class seafood. There’s no shortage of places to choose from, especially in Portree. While we were waiting for our sea eagle boat trip (if you’re ever in Portree go on this trip!) we eyed up the restaurants around the harbour and decided to check out a small one with a nice specials board outside advertising locally caught shellfish called Sea Breezes. A capital weekend – 3 days in Edinburgh

We thought it would be a good idea to go to Edinburgh for the Scotland – Wales six nations match. Turns out that was a mistake, but the rest of the weekend was great. I’ll pick up from 75 minutes into the rugby. Probably best as everything before that was a bit disappointing. Anyway, we had enough and decided to steal a march on the rest of Murrayfield¬†so nipped out early. A long walk at a brisk pace brought us to Zizzi¬†before any other rugby fan and we managed to secure a table for two where we sat and watched the baying hordes arrive a couple of minutes later and be turned away. Grilled Langoustines

So we return to the scene of the crime. This is what I was going to cook the night I made our grill explode. *sigh* I put the grill on to heat and closed the door while I fannied about preparing stuff. Of course the high heat of the grill had the predictable effect of superheating the glass inside the oven door until it expanded to the point where it couldn’t expand any more. The resulting explosion of glass scared the crap out of me and ruined the chances of grilling the langoustines I’d bought for tea, so they were boiled instead. Tonight I gave it a second go.
