Low Fat Whisky Cream

One of the things my girlfriend has been missing the most since being diagnosed with gallstones is Baileys. Unfortunately as it’s made with cream it’s on the banned list for her. In the meantime she’s been making do with White Russians using semi-skimmed milk as a substitute, or at least she was until boxing day.

We were watching some TV after the second large feast in as many days but not really paying attention to what was happening on the programme. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed that they were talking about Irish whiskey cream and the presenters were going to have a go at making their own. Pheasant with caramelised apples

It’s farmers market day! Woo! We headed down to the monthly farmer’s market on the hunt for something tasty for tea. Despite getting sidetracked by a pork pie and some free sausage samples we eventually completed our mission and returned home with a pack of pheasant breasts and a few pigeon breasts (to be blogged another day). Pan fried gammon with cider sauce

It’s Friday night and due to a snap decision at lunchtime (my girlfriend was going to the supermarket and asked what I wanted for tea tonight) we’re having gammon. All morning I’d been thinking about pizza but decided to put that off until later in the weekend, especially as we’re going out for dinner tomorrow and pizza is a distinct possibility then.
